Hi guys, I've had my 147 Selespeed for just over a year now. Yesterday I did a driving course, nothing too challenging, and on the way back two things went wrong.
1) The first issue I suspect might be the brake sticking, just not sure how to do much about it myself. Pulling away at low revs, the car is very jerky, in first and reverse. I can hear it revving, but it bites, then doesn't. It's leading to really bad "kangarooing" as we call it in Australia. The reason I suspect it may be the brakes is because the cruise control isn't activating, whereas it was only a few hours previously.
2) After driving for a few minutes, a "selespeed system failure" warning comes up. The first two times it also came up with "VDC system failure" and "ABS failure". Since doing an ECU reset those two haven't been coming up any more. When the selespeed failure comes up, it won't let me shift up gears beyond 2nd. It will however, let me shift down (as it comes up when I'm in 4th or 5th). When I cut the ignition and restart the engine, it's fine again, but only for a few minutes til it flashes up again.
I've done an ECU reset, as I suspected it was only an electrical problem (as it changed gears fine when the engine has just started). I have also checked all the fuses for the selespeed transmission and cruise control, but with no luck. Unfortunately it would be quite difficult for me to get to a Alfa specialist.
Can anyone help?
