Locking Wheel Nuts - Original Equipment
I've just discovered that some **** person (previous intervention) has vitually destroyed the internals of the OEM Alfa locking wheel nut keys of my car. The locks fit over the wheelnuts OK, but are so stripped that they can no longer loosen the wheel bolts.
These are the OEM items, Alfa kit part number 5901003, and are used on the OEM alloy Speedline teledial wheels as per standard Veloce spec.
I have bought a new kit under the same part number 5901003 from AR, thinking that hopefully the locking keys (sockets) would fit the nuts on the car. Theory being that I thought that hopefully the same AR part number would provide a nice pair of new keys, and some new bolts too. Wrong! I just noticed that these wheel nuts and keys are letter stamped with a code. Different letter code - no fit. The new kit is code "J". The bolts on the car are code "C". The difference is in the positions of the 3x lugs and the number of splines between them.
So, I have the new kit, but can't install the new bolts unless I can remove the existing (damaged) ones.
Anyone have some experience of this, or helpful words ?
