Variator Diesel Sound

Had the variator replaced back in March. Have made sure oil levels have been fine but the diesel sound has comeback on startup again. Lasts no more than 2-3 seconds.

Could this be going already after such a short space of time?

Re: Variator Diesel Sound is quite common.

Change the oil using an engine flush and this will cure it. A rattle at startup is not a problem

Re: Variator Diesel Sound

Another thing you can do in order to "protect" your variator is to keep the revs low (under 3000 rpm) when you first start the engine, until the temp starts rising.
Doing that you make sure that the oil's pressure and temp is ideal and the appropriate amount of oil is sent to the variator.
