147 TS Lusso Climate Control Issues

Hi All,

I've had several issues with my Climate Control since buying the car second hand two years ago (it was quite cheap!).

The car is going to Alfa Workshop in a few weeks and hopefully they might be able to solve some if not all of them, but I thought I would ask on here first to see if any one else had experienced similar problems.

Firstly when I brought the car I couldn't get any cold air out of it when AC was on. A recharge of the system helped last service (about 12 months ago) but it still only comes out cool on drivers side, passenger side is quite warm despite settings being the same on both sides. Also AC is not as cool as it was straight after recharge so I'm, thinking I might have a leak some where.

Another problem I have is that if the climate control is set to a warm temperature when it's started, even when I turn the temperature right down to LO setting I can't get cold air, the reverse is also the same (i.e start with cold setting, won't get warm).

Finally I appear to have a problem with vent direction, sometimes when switching from say windscreen to footwell it stays on windscreen, also about 10-20 secs after the ignition is turned off there appears to be a sound of the vents moving/closing, they sometimes appear to get stuck and you can hear it repeatadly try to move them. This has caused the battery to flatten when left for any extended period of time so I now have to wait to hear it stop moving before I leave the car for a while.

Any help would be appreciated.

it sounds buggered mate, let the professionals deal with it but ALWAYS get a second opinion.

Thats what I feared, if that's the case it may have to wait. Cambelt/variator change is a slightly more pressing!
