Re: How long to let the car warm up before driving?
Running a car at idle is not terribly good for it. They are, after all is said and done, mechanical entities and they perform at best when "on the move". drive off as soon as you like but treat the engine with care 'til at least the temp guage is off the bottom and pref. wait 'til it hits operating temp before leathering it. I know we can't compare older cars to the modern variety but I always remember the little red oil temp light on the Alfa sud which stayed on 'til the temp. was correct, then flickered a bit before going out.
