Always plenty of bad stories about dealers on forums, so I thought I'd do a little to redress the balance.
Picked up my 147 from Northgate (Canterbury) on Thursday. Late in the afternoon, I noticed that a small area of paint was not metalic. Phoned dealer, and left message on answerphone.
So miffed, that someone in the factory had taken the time to flat a paint run, but then put the car through for it's lacquer, I then went over the car more thoroughly, and found a couple of very shallow dents, a mis-aligned door, and a couple of stress lines on the bonnet.
Friday morning, at 09.10, I received a call from Northgate. "Bring the car in, sorry we missed it" etc....
I explained that I now had a longer list.
This morning I popped to Canterbury to deal, for the first time, with the Service Manager. He agreed to all the defects, and found an extra one,
and suggested that they take the car in and rectify the lot as soon as convenient for me.
Unfortunately, I don't want the car to look like a patchwork quilt in 3 years time, so we have agreed to the car not being touched, but (subject to Alfa approval) some compensation in the form of service/accessory vouchers coming my way.
Never had such a good response from a car dealer, of any marque.
Top blokes so far.
