On the radiator fan chassis, there are two wires which go into a resistor (rectangular box) at the top, near the o/s. This usually corrodes and goes open circuit, which causes the fan to stop operating.
Try bridging these two spade terminals when the engine is hot enough for the fan to kick in. If that works, either get a new resistor, or repair it.
The relays are troublesome also. The one ahead of the battery can be substituted for another one in there for the purposes of fault finding.
Try cleaning the terminals of the temp sensor before renewing it, and look at the wiring to make sure it's not chaffed.
