How long will a Selespeed last?

Hello Guys!
I am an Australian member who has an Alfa Romeo Year 2000 156 Selespeed Monza. It has 75,000km on it.
I have had 1 selespeed scare.... turned out to only be a wiring problem..... thank you stealer....

I believe my car has a series 1 actuator.

I have been told the series 1 actuator is trouble..... apparantly oil leaks from the selespeed into the gear box and then you need a new actuator.

I am interested in hearing from other members about how long it SHOULD / HAS LASTED...... all answers (good and bad) appreciated.

Personally I love the selespeed system.... however I don't think I would buy a selespeed again..... very $$$ when faulty!!!

Advice PLEASE!

Well Happy Re: How long will a Selespeed last?

Hi mate my first selespeed needed a new actuator at 72000 miles, the new one only has 18000 on the clock and everything is ok at the moment (touch wood). I sold the first one with 95000 and it was still ok.
