Shell V Power
I know there's another thread on this fuel elsewhere, for those of you not in the know it has replaced Optimax as Shell's premimum grade petrol, and this time it is made to BS7800 (min 97 ron) rather than Optimax which was only produced to BS EN 228 which is the British Standard for regular unleaded (and requires a min 95 ron)
Anyway, after exhaustive testing by myself, ie three tanks worth, I can report that I am getting around 4 mpg better fuel consumption and more surprisingly bella is using less than half the oil than she used to. I previously filled up with regular Shell btw.
Not sure why this is but there you go.
Performance-wise, not sure if it is quicker, maybe it is, or maybe it is in the mind. Perhaps the engine sounds a bit better too.
Anyone else tried it?
