ABS &VCD Warnings

Just recently the ABS and VCD lights have come on along with a computer display warning. This is intermittent and goes away if you switch the engine off and restart. Does anyone know if this is serious? I have the car booked for a service in 3 weeks and was hoping this could wait.

Re: ABS &VCD Warnings

I reckon its a dodgy sensor, I had this on a volvo 850 I had. It had a dodgy sensor which would make the abs light come on, and the abs would be inoperative. Ign off/on again and it would be back to normal. You should be fine until service, unless your driving needs these two systems.

Re: ABS &VCD Warnings

Could be as simple as low battery, at least it was (luckily) in my car.

i had the same thing and it turned out to be a 50 amp fuse which on my 156 is in a black box which is almost on top of the battery ,the fuse is held in place by two small nuts hope this helps mate

Re: ABS &VCD Warnings

Hi would advise an examiner check to many parts on these systems, alfatwice is right though the fuse in battery auxcillary fuse box does sometimes blow or just come loose/ corrosion sets in been caught out with this one once before looks ok but it,s not hair line crack better to take out and check gives intermitent dash warnings!
