Re: Newbie GT Owner
Some further info and news.
Spurred on by your comments, I had a go at fixing the front rubber spoilers today on my GT, with some success (I think!).
I went and got some No 6 x 1/2" self-tapping zinc-plated screws (from Focus as it happens Code 104698).
When factory fitted, the spoilers are simply tacked on with thin wire loops which eventually eat their way through the spoiler one by one when hit by road humps, dead hedgehogs etc etc.
The loops can be prised out of the plastic, leaving holes. There is a hole in the rubber as well, conveniently situated, left by the loop pulling out.
It is possible now to replace the loops with the self-tapping screws, utilising the holes already there (with a bit of effort). I used washers on the screw heads to further protect the rubber.
Hope this helps.
