Another thank you, typed with bruised fingers, after changing V6 'stat. Bought hose clip pliers soon after getting the 156 in order to fit my Autodelta intake pipe, did not expect the water pipes to have yet another different connector (dubbed the Rubik).
Have to add an extra points,
drop 'stat bolt and watch it vanishish into the engine bay, never to re-emerge.
Walk to autofactors and buy i. some jubilee clips and ii. 7mm bolts.
Ran the car up to temp (ie fans came on), which it has NEVER done at idle since I got it, hopefully my 4 mile trip to work will move the temp guage off the peg (got it up to 50 once, although the trip took me an hour as the nearby gasometer blew up!!).
