I have read a number of threads on this subject over a number of different forums.
I thought I'd try here....the most respected forum!
Two days ago, I had a full service on my 2004 GT - plugs, filters, oil etc.
I drove it back from the garage - approx 1 mile, then yesterday, I did another 2 miles, then today on my way to work this morning.....the 'Monitor Control System Failure' warning came on along with the Engine Management Light.
I took this back to the garage who said they couldn't find anything wrong with it and reset it.
They said that the OBD codes were P1172 and P1175, but these showed as 'No Text Description' on their machine.
I have found through this forum that these codes are:
P1172 Rotor Control Fault
P1175 Cam Control Fault
Although there are some other opinions somewhere indicating the codes relate to incorrect mixture.
I have driven it home, its driving fine, as it always does.....fingers crossed.
Any opinion as to what the problem maybe/was?
Cam belt, variator and everything else was replaced Jan 2013.
