replacing air filter

Hi. Have just purchased a BMC filter and V6 pipe to upgrade my 1.8TS. Have printed out some instructions on the pipe replacement. Can someone explain how to replace the actual air filter. I've read lots about various boxes, subsiduary boxes, inner plastic tubes etc.

Do i get into the air filter box via the screws on its top? Mine look very rusty and possibly rounded off. Do i have to remove the pipe that goes into this box.

Etc etc etc????!!!

Sorry to be thick.!

Re: replacing air filter

The following may not make complete sense but it's how I did it (and using my terminology!)

To get at the actual filter you need to take the top off the airbox/filter housing. You need to undo the 3 nuts that will sheer off unless the car is only 5 minutes old , undo the connector pipe that goes from the top of the airbox to the injection system (1 jubilee clip) and then it should lift off to reveal the air filter.
