156 sportswagon idle speed
My 1.8 petrol SW (2001) has an excess idle speed of about 250 rpm. Members have suggested this is probably an air leak in the trunking after the main air filter. But I've looked at the exposed pipework on the rhs of the engine bay and can't identify one.
Am I looking in the right place?
What else could cause this? Are the coil packs possibly implicated?
Also I've been loosing coolant and there's a stain from the antifreeze mixture where the pipe from the radiator disappears inside the head, but I can see no seepage with the engine running at normal temperature. The engine oil looks fine so I don't think its the head gasket.
Any ideas please?
