hi, can anyone help me here? I want to change the standard stereo to a new sony one. Do i need some special leads to do this? The ones on the stereo wont fit directly to the car.

Re: 147 stereo change

dont know a lot about stereos, other than when i had an after market one fitted to my bighorn...had it done at Halfords and needed a wiring adaptor which cost around 10 pounds, this allowed the new stereo to connect with the existing wiring within the car

hope this helps

Re: 147 stereo change

I would expect to do much as Mike suggests.

There is usually a rack in Halfords with different connector/adaptor types. I had to do something similar when I fitted an Alpine headunit in my old Escort. Cost 5-10 at the time.

Shouldn't be too difficult to get one.
