Just seen this, I had a few problems with a sele after and engine rebuild, Euan at CP hated my car
the gear they have should be able to talk to the gearbox but couldn't, they even had the Bosch rep spend a frustrating afternoon on it, anyway took it to Arnold Clark in Dundee and got them to provide a report from the Alfa Diag,
Turned out I had 2 problems, a broken wire on the clutch speed sensor and a Short to ground on the pump relay, now this is the interesting bit, this turned out to be a dirty contact in the multi plug on the top of the throttle body, took them off, cleaned them up and bobs yer aunty as it were,
also, if you top up the sele fluid, make sure you use the right stuff, CS speed iirc, as the tank goes down when the system is primed you may get the impression it's empty, so you fill it some more, result being it drops the fluid all over the floor from the NS arch when the system loses pressure with the engine off...
sorry for my ramblings, hope it helps though
