20v jtd rough running and misfire
Hi all, your thoughts/diagnosis on this very much appreciated...
My '04 20v Jtd which has always been a smooth runner has developed bad habits. Its now got a lumpy idle and will occasionally misfire at idle. Its also weird when driving - its down on power, but sometimes surges forward. It also has this intermittent thing where all of a sudden the engine sounds like a tractor (really loud and dieselly/or like pinking), if I change the throttle position this stops.
The MCSF light is on and I've read the codes using ecuscan, which gives
P0704 (clutch switch - invalid signal - stored)
P1235 (boost pressure signal - signal high - fatal - light on)
P0115 (Water temp sensor - signal high - stored - light on)
I cleared the codes then took the car round the block - MCSF light came back on when I floored it, but ecuscan now showing P0115 code as only fault.
I'm scratching my head a bit as I'm sure the water temp sensor error wouldn't cause these symptoms - I suspected a faulty injector, so any advice is gratefully received....
Have just spent £450 on having a new alternator fitted so hoping its not going to be too expensive!
