ok my drivers window switch decided to fall apart this morning..and yes the bl**dy window was down!....I did manage to tease what was left of the switch in to action and got the window back up but its shot.
1. Can I just swap it out with one of the rear window switches?
If yours is still of the prefacelift interior then (no steering wheel controls) then YES, any window switch from around the car will swap into that position, take care though as they can be tricky to get out of the holders.
Thanks guys, My 156 is a 2001, will the switch pack from a 'T' plate ( 1999 im guessing ) fit?
You need to look at the switchs. Undo the 2 small allen bolts and pull the whole 4 switch unit out. Underneath the swtichswill either be all black (pre interior facelift or colourcoded (facelift). Then you'll know 100%. I believe yours is right on the change. Simple question. Is you gearstick surround intergrated with the centre consol including ash tray and dials or is it a separate piece of silver plastic?
Well just to update, it seems that the coolant sensor was having a moment, I have had the fault codes cleared and all seems well....although common sense dictates a new sensor will be ordered next week.
