I ran a 1998 156 2.0 TS with a K&N for 8 years and 72,000 miles.I had improved low down torque and on long European runs of 3000 motorway miles, around 38-40 m.p.g. @ 130k.p.h.It must have been worth 5 b.h.p. on the 155 b.h.p. engine and howled beautifully at 7000r.p.m..Original MAF absolutely fine.I suspect that after cleaning ,some people may over-oil the matrix which would suck in excess filter oil.My 'Sud has had a K&N for over 90,000 miles and 26 years on,it still puts a smile on my face at 118,000miles.I clean it every 30,000 miles or so but the twin carbs would burn off any excess oil over zealously applied.I don't believe a K&N would cause damage to the MAF.They use them on microlight engines.Enough said.I only fitted the K&N after the warranty was void and will do the same when our 147 2.0TS is three years old for obvious reasons.
