How easy is it to fit a new pedal switch?

I've not done a 156 switch but usually they just clip in or need turning to locate. Sure this has been mentioned before....try a search

Check the earth points in the boot (under the trim near the light units).
Mine did the same and it was due to the earth bolt working loose.

Could also be the switch though.

My GTV has just had exactly the same problem, just had the switch removed, cleaned up and re fitted in the right position. Can you hear it click when you press the brake pedal, mine was clicking on but not always clicking off
