Re: Bad hesitation on 156 2.0 TS
Didn't get it plugged into the examiner, rain stopped play.
Have changed so far:
Variator, belts etc. (cam timing is spot on)
Plugs and leads
Tried a new Lambda sensor
Tried a brand new Bosch maf
Checked for sparks - all ok.
Changed a split charcoal cannister
Only difference was a slight reduction in the hesitation after doing the HT leads and cleaning the maf, but it still drives like a pig. It's dangerous when cold as it won't go when you need it - like pulling out from a junction.
Have checked all the hoses for splits and leaks.
Checked the wiring for chafing.
Have tried unplugging the maf - runs slightly worse.
Have tried unplugging the idle actuator - won't even rev up.
Have reset the ecu/idle actuator three times.
Have cleaned the throttle body, idled at 1,750 until I reset the ecu.
Bottle of injector / valve / fuel system cleaner.
Apart from changing the idle actuator, I'm just about out of ideas and just about fed up with the car. I have a feeling it's going to end up at a specialist for the fix, which will cost me money I don't have on a car which has already emptied my wallet.
Make something idiot proof and someone will only go and build a better idiot...
