Help Cambelt Servicing Intervals

I have recently purchased a 2005 147 TI Alfa 2.0, it has 84,000 miles. All reference material I have read advises Cambelt change every 55,000 km. How can I check if the cambelt servicing has been completed?

It will usually be written in the service book, using a pen the mechanic writes cambelt change, so it should have a stamp plus written in pen.

If the last service was more than 3 years ago then it still needs to be done. If the last service stamp was less then 3 years ago it would be a good i idea to ring that mechanic and hopefully they have it written in the computer record what service was performed. Dont forget you will need to change your waterpump in your next cambelt service, usually every second time.

Three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is no way of telling when or if it was done just by looking at the belt so unless you have a receipt from a trusted garage saying its been done then its safest to assume it hasn't been!
I wouldn't trust hand written notes in the service book, anyone could've added that in to make the car more saleable (as happened with my 156).

If the servicing has been done at a specialist, then they generally keep records - just call them, and they will look up the invoice.

If it was done by some random garage, then you might have some luck, but not so likely.
