In the past few days I've been doing a few bits on the alfa. I have replaced the gearbox oil, changed upper wishbones and put 3 helicoils in 3 of my wheel hubs...
Whilst changing the passenger side wishbone there was a wire that wasn't loose but it wasn't held on to any bracket it was just hanging loose. It was pretty obvious where it was supposed to be attached too so I bolted it too where the top drop link is. Anyway after I had changed the wishbones I took it for a spin and all was well, no more squeaking!!!
Got it back in the garage and changed gearbox oil then got the tyres replaced, and whilst they were being done I repaired 3 damaged wheel hub threads in front 2 and n/s rear. O/S front was a nightmare and took me ages ( and knackured my drill!) did it in the end and put the new helicoil in and job was a gooden
Took it for a spin tonight to see how the gearbox oil was and the tyres felt and 200 yards down the road I get these warning lights in order ( I think anyway)
First off I had ABS system failure
then ASR something failure and then said ASR off
and finally it came up with VDC system failure.
A quick look in my manual and I see these are all related so it had to be the same thing.
I'm going to check the wire on the front left wheel that I attached and check that hasn't been ripped off at full lock or something...
Anybody got any other ideas as to what it may be ? What could I have done when doing the helicoil ?
