Oops moment during thermostat change
While changing the engine thermostat on my 156 2.0 JTS, I spilled a lot of water and dropped a hose clip into the little hole that you can see just under the thermostat in the attached photo, in what I presume is the clutch/gearbox cover. Will this be a big problem? I hope there is another such hole at the bottom for the hose clip to drop out, but I can't get underneath to check as I live in a small flat and haven't got any ramps or axle stands.
(At least I assume it went into that little hole. I hope it didn't actually go into the engine block, as the thermostat wasn't screwed onto the block when I lost the hose clip.)
Any advice appreciated.
