Okay with the VVT unplugged there is no CEL light, only a warning through obd.
What are your thoughts, zero out all the setting in my piggyback, connect the VVT? I think it's worth a shot moving the MAF to blow through. I did measure the distance of the MAF position to the throttle body with the FMIC and it's at least 2.5m of pipe or 0.2 - 0.3 m using blow through that is a massive difference bearing in mind the stock car distance is 0.4m, I'm guessing / hoping this will make a huge difference. The cars setup is now completely different to the last time it has been run FMIC, bigger turbo, different exhaust manifold, different inlet manifold, bigger throttle body (bigger), Pistons skimmed by 1.3mm, sports cat with 63mm exhaust.
For info with the previous turbo setup with VVT connected there was a huge surge of power when it engaged with corresponding knock.
