Sorry to launch straight into a question without introducing myself fully, but I'm an impending Alfa owner and I'm really torn....
I've been looking around at JTD's recently as a (reasonably) cheap and fun diesel. I've found a 2002 Turismo (facelift) with 102k on the clock. It's at a local trader for about £4k. Full ASH, including belt changes at 72k, in silver, new tyres etc etc, although hasn't been serviced since 90k, so needs one now.
HOWEVER, on the test drive, the following items of note came up:
Rear drivers window doesn't function.
Clutch bite point extremely high (like right on the edge of the pedal)
On the standard 70-0 emergency stop, the nearside front wheel locked from 30-0.
Couldn't figure out if cruise control didn't work, or I couldn't work it.
Has anybody any advice please? I'm tempted to just walk away, but the price for a facelift model is extremely good.
Any comments appreciated (including that I'm a muppet
