Oh my naivety! Help!
My situation is this,
I bought my Alfa from Car Craft in December 05. It had 36,000 miles on the clock and I wanted it as soon as I saw it. It’s a 52 reg, gleaming red with lots and lots of toys!
Now, this was my first “new car”. The newest car I had owned before this was an H reg so I was well accustomed to problems with timing belts etc etc. So I was looking forward to some trouble free motoring.
In my naivety I assumed 36,000 miles on the Alfa would present no problems regarding the timing belt but after reading post after post on here about horror stories im a little worried to say the least. Also, the variator is knackered now too as it sounds like a diesel on start up.
My question to you all is would my warranty cover replacement of timing belt, tensioners and variator? Car Craft give you a free 2 year warranty but I paid an extra £750 to extend to 3 years and to cover all electrical faults as well as mechanical. Car Craft warranty cover is with NAC.
Its probably a long shot I know, but with a recent house purchase money is tight so this is not something I could pay for in the near future. Im driving even more cautiously now as a result!
Any info appreciated guys, thanks for taking time to read.
