Bodywork Touch Up Advice
It's been a while since I posted (2/3 years?), and things have certainly changed round here! I've been enjoying my first Alfa in that time since registering here, a lovely 156 2.0 JTS Lusso in the obligatory(!) Alfa red.
I've recently given up the company car ( a Jag X Type diesel that's nearly killed me on a number of occasions on account of pulling out at roundabouts/junctions forgetting about the 5 second satellite delay between putting foot to pedal and actually moving) and we're now the proud owner of a 147 2.0 Lusso in addition to the 156 (yes, it's red). The Missus got the Alfa bug after driving the 156 for a couple of years. Matching his 'n' hers Alfa's. Result! Apart from arguments about who's driving what.
I've followed our Aussie friend Stori's advice throughout my period of ownership (Zymol wash/wax/leather cleaner, etc, etc) but despite this I'm starting to suffer from the inevitable - stone chips and a slightly faded bumper colour (only on the 147; the Zymol wax treatment has kept the 156 looking as good as new).
I'm an amateur when it comes to car maintenance, and would appreciate some (fairly) definitive and simple advice on rectifying/avoiding these problems. Only 2 more years to go on the 156 car loan, then it's a switch to the GT/Brera!
Thanks in advance.
