I've owned my 147 for 128 hours so far and I've been driving a courtesy car for 126 of them
I'm seeing the lighter side of this as the week progresses.
Some of positives I've come up with so far;
1) I'm getting better fuel economy in this Multijet than I will in my 2.0 so I'm saving money this week too (helping to pay for it!).
2) I've had a week of getting used to driving a 147 (previous was a Fiesta which is obviously much smaller, easier to park, better turning circle, better rear visibility for reverse parking etc) without having to worry about wacking my wing mirrors or reversing into walls etc.
3) The dealer is spending money and I'm not (except having to drive back up to Salford again and take up another afternoon to do it). If I count the two new 17" P7000s, a new front wheel, a 48000 mile service and the Cam belt change, then I've saved quite a lot of cash so far!
4) I've had more time to look forward to driving it and reconfirm my purchase. Both of which were reinforced by my driving experience in a new Ford Focus on Tuesday which was bl£@dy awful.
Personally I can't see myself going back to another marque. They all seem too bland.
Having said that, I've only had 128 hours of the Alfa experience up to now so who knows
