Re: Why don't Alfa do a spoiler for a 5 door 147?
Alfa probably follow the old car industry guidance that the 3 door version of any car is the youth friendly one and the 5 door is the more sensible one! Many firms only add the go faster plastic work to the 3 door to create a performance image. A three door shell is cheaper to make, and the two fewer doors reduce costs further. The profit margin on 3 doors is higher than on 5 doors as the dealer osts are very close. The extra margin tends to be spent on the plasticwork to reassure single, non-child owning buyers that their new car is a lifestyle accessory! Note the Fiat bravo and brava. 3 and 5 door versions of the same car. The 5 is dull and drab, the 3 door much more eye friendly.
People buy 3 door with heart, and 5 with head!
