Re: Insurance on 2 litre for a 19 year old
Veer away from the mainstream insurers. Try the back of the modified rags like Max Power, Redline or Fast Car, they have insurers that specialise in higher performance cars at reasonable money.
However the age thing is a problem. There is a cheats way around it if you have parents/ partner who are more insurable. Insure your car under somebody elses name with you as a named driver, some firms like Direct line allow the named driver to gain no-cliams as well.
Or, this is the cheeky bit, insure a dirt cheap scooter and leave it in the shed, garage etc. or something like a 20 year old shi@@er and then store it somewhere or scrap it. It will accrue a years No-claims discount while you drive your own car cheaply as a named driver on someone elses policy. Needs to be believeable to work in the case of a claim or accident.
