Fuel consumption is bad. There's no way around that. And you can't really give a number on mixed cycles because, for me, I drive through city traffic everyday to work and back and when occasionally I get to go out of time to visit friends, or for work, road trip, whatever, them I'm just so glad to be out on the open road that I just floor it all the time and overtake everything I can
) I even had reverse experiences when I got less mpg on ~ 200 mile trip between city's then I got driving around town. So I usually get 18-20 mpg in town and I managed a little less then 18 mpg outside. So overall mpg is crap, power by today's standards is meh, but the character of this engine, the responsiveness, the linearity, the elasticity, the urgency and willingness and that sound ... I've been in faster, way more efficient boxer's V6's V8's Turbo's but they amount to not much (and in many cases nothing) if the experience of driving isn't gratifying and on that front and in my opinion, the Busso V6 is alone in an upper, upper league. Maintenance I pretty easy on the wallet (or maybe I'm just lucky) so if you can afford the petrol, go for it, if not, don't bother, this is not an engine you want to practice hypermileing in. It's a pretty powerful, revvy, very characterful and very thirsty engine and for all that you need to pay.
