Oil overfill after service
Just had my car serviced (60K) a couple of days ago by a very reputed indy garage on this forum.
I bought a 5 litre tub of selenia racing 10w60 (they do it now) for the garage to use. Checked the oil level today and it seems to be about 400ml over max. Called the garage and he used the whole 5 liters!
My question is that I know the amount between min and max is 1 litre, but is it uniform (i.e. the same proportion length/oil-level) all the way up the dipstick? If it is then it is definatly 400-500ml over as it is over by the same amount as half the distance between min and max on the dipstick.
The garage bloke, who I do have every faith in as he knows his alfas well, (michel di zazzo will ring a few bells for anyone in susex/surrey) although I wont name the garage says it is only over by 200ml, and that this is ok, but I see it as being nealy 500ml over.
Is this going to cause a problem or should I trust the old Italian bloke??
