Hot weather engine temps - Quick check please!
Hello all, I've had my 156 Selespeed about a year now and I'd just like to check a couple of things on the engine temp front.
In the winter the temp holds at about 85 deg (the needle splits the 9 of the 90)
As it has gotten warmer, the temp guage sits just on the 90, and a little over when moving at speed without the AC on, with AC it gets to about 100, half way between the 90 and next notch on the guage. AT this point the fan is on first speed. It hits second speed as needle goes a little further.
However, today, sitting in a busy car park with outside temp shown at 35 deg C! The coolant temp guage with AC on was sat very close to the 110 deg mark (the one half way between the 90 and end of the guage!) with cooling fan on second speed (max) This worries me.
Car is 7 years old and 80k on clock. Due MoT before end of next week. I am thinking new radiator, but would rather not as this is tax, mot and insurance month too!
Any views on these temps greatly appreciated.
PS How long does a rad change take?
