I have spent the day yesterday investigating my gear change problems...
My Gt wasn't going into gear properly for a while, so I changed the selector plate bushes. This was ok but, now the only way it will go into 5th or 6th now is if i lift the reversing lock a bit.
I am not entirely sure I put the selector plate together properly because there is no definate right move of the gear stick when going from 4th to 5th. Then when moving into 6th, it pulls straight back into 4th... What could be stopping it going into 6th..?
Anyway... Then I bled the slave cylinder since now it is getting colder again and i have to pump the clutch a few times to egt it into any gear.
I drove it to work this morning and did a bit more fault diagnosis. The first half of clutch travel is free (as in no pressure to the clutch). from the middle down to the floor, it feels normal. but will not disengage the clutch enough to put it into gear.
If i drive with my foot on the clutch so it stops at the top of the pressure (about halfway up, if that makes sense), it changes gear perfectly well! This is leading me to believe that the master cylinder is on it's way out... Any thoughts??
Started off with a 156
Then got the GTV
Now it's on with the BlackLine GT!
