Sorry for being stupid!! I have not got the software thing, so what you are saying is disconnect the battery for about 20-30 mins, then take the AMF lead out (or take the AMF lead out without doing the battery disconnection)??
If the car drives fine and the idle speed is fine (whilst the AMF lead is off) then it is the AMF that needs replacing?? but if the problem is still there (whilst the AMF lead is off) then it is not the AMF?? Is this correct??
p.s will the AMF not functioning properly have an effect on the amount of fuel consumed?? As the car is like a fish at the moment!!
