I have a strange issue with my Alfa Gt 2.0 Jts, well almost a story:
I always got the opinion that the car feels better sometimes with more torque and more will to rev up, but as I couldnt imagine the cause I was not sure about it being an illusion.
But now I have got a complete raggazon exhaust fitted for 4 months and I got confirmed: Normally the car is quite loud now, almost too loud so I mentioned to fit the original exhaust again. Especially around 2300rpm it sounds like having a huge subwoofer fitted, even coins begin do vibrate! In contrary, when revving up it is not as loud as you would estimate from the lower revs.
But then, suddenly on the way on holidays to the coast, the car got quiet. I felt again that the engine felt better, even smooth shifting feels easier without concentrating on the pedals!
With the exhaust you could definitely hear the difference: When running 'fine' it sounds rough and throaty, but very very good! It isn't as loud in lower revs without any annyoing bass, but in high revs it screams like you know from CF2 twinnies.
Unfornately home again in Germany this joy had gone again.
But now within the last 3 weeks this symptome came suddenly back 2 times with turning on the ignition, lasts ca. 2 days and then dissapears slowly while driving with slowly turning up the annoying exhaust note again.
MAF and spark plugs had been changed due to misfires a few months ago. Unfornately the workshop is not keen on ivestigating this issue. Perhaps they do not even believe me
When I told them after buying this car about being disappointed with the engine and its power, they confirmed that the JTS are definitely much more sluggish than the TS due to the restrictive exhaust which I accepted.
Though now I know that this engine can definitively be fun!, but unfornately only infrequent.
Does anyone know something about this issue?
many thanks in advance
