downsizing - will this work?

Hi - I was hoping someone would be able to advise if 147 16 inch alloys would fit on a GT?

Don't laugh - my 17" GT alloys are due for a refurb and I was thinking of using a set of 16" 147 alloys in the interim/into winter. GT is a Jtd, so no huge calipers but the whole offset/et thing confuses me.

Thanks in advance

A quick search would have found this thread; seems to be popular. I'll be swapping my 17" multis for 16" teledials with winter tyres very soon. The ET (offset) will be slightly different but will fit OK.

Done the same for the last 3 winters with no problems whatsoever. The ride comfort is also improved . . .
