Replacing 147 door pillar trim
A few weeks ago I noticed that the shiny black trim on my passenger door pillar ('03 147, 3 door 1.6 Lusso) has a 20x5mm area of flaking paint along the top edge. At first I wasn't worried as I have a month left on my 3 year paintwork warranty, but the dealership said they'd have to check with Fiat as it's "trim" rather than "bodywork".
I'm still waiting for a reply from Fiat, but if it isn't covered I've been told the actual trim piece is only around £15, so I'm wondering how hard it would be to simply replace it myself - the dealership say it would be around £130 including labour for them to do it if I end up having to pay for it.
So - has anyone done this, or have a feeling how hard it might be? I assume I'd need to get the window seal out and it looks like the trim would be secured under there somehow?
Thanks for any advice!
