Either mine is for sale, not much bigger than a 147. The add is in this lounge if you fancy a browse
Servicing with these cars is uber easy, nothing complicated, no engine out etc. Parts are very cheap but many non owners jump on the "oh don't get one they are unreliable and expensive" band wagon, which they certainly are not.
Wishbones and ball joints aren't really a problem area, if you buy cheap then expect no life but if you purchase via Alfa Workshop for spares then you will end up with either OEM or TRW parts which are highly regarded. They are not like E46 wishbones..... OR suffer the RTAB wear. Replace once with genuine or high quality parts and they will last 70k+
Honestly the engines are great, if a belt ever did snap and heavens forbid that ever did happen, then the worst will be the rockers cracking, change them, replace the belt, tensioners and water pump and all done, just need to lock the cams etc as I am sure you know.
Honestly, coming from many cars (BMW, TVR, VAG) Alfa Romeos are great cars and are as reliable as everything else out on the road........... But like everything else they need to be serviced and cared for in order to last... Like everything else really.
I have had no regrets, and even my brother who is a mechanic was blown away with the condition, and he hates Italian cars
