The 147 2 litre TS is a nice car. First drive of my purchase today.
The driving position is perfect for me, steering light and accurate, clutch light, good handling and braking. The engine is free revving and sounds lovely through a ss cat back exhaust at higher revs.
The gearbox is a bit clumsy and springy (but I do have a left arm in splint from a bike accident). The good news is that 3rd and 4th are an easy change and those gears are best for back road fun. 5th feels a bit like an overdrive to me, even with the lowish gearing through the range.
Overall, I really like the car although the impression is more of a stylish saloon with some sportiness rather than an out and out hooligan. Guess that can be left to the Subarus (wife wouldn't let me have one of those.
It's thumbs up for the 147
but I will be keeping a sportsbike for the adrenalin rush. Alfa is more like a smooth early evening cocktail.
Sorry mods, this should have been in general, not tech assistance. My bad.
