156 Rip...

Well, it was good while it lasted. My 156 2.0 JTS is no more. Following some idiot pulling out of a side road last week and me banging into him, my Alfa has been written off by the insurers.

Nobody was hurt and they've offered what I paid for it 6 months ago so it could be worse but it was a really nice example and had been going great at the time... Even better is that the other party admitted liability.

I have been given a courtesy car, A Hyundai Getz if you will. It's small, tinny, slow and completely anonymous. Apart from that it's fine...

I've got to start looking around for a replacement now. Whether it will be another Alfa I don't yet know ...

What a bummer...

Re: 156 Rip...

sounds exactly the same as what happened with my celica. someone pulled out from a sidestreet, i went into there side, car was wrote off. they admitted liability at the scene now 7 months later as my insurance is due for renewal his insurance company are arguing that it was not his fault that he didnt give way at a clearly marked give way sign.

good luck with hunting for a new car, look hard enough you will find a perfect alfa for ya, if thats what you go for. i hope the insurance companies settle asap too for you.

Damn, that is such bad luck, at least no one was hurt.
Get another 156, you know you want to.
