got mine done by one of those mobile refurb ,guys was thinking of doing the same as you ,but by the time you fork out for paint and disc,s plus the time ,he did a fantastic job look like new took the fella 7 hrs to do job for £50 a rim
If you have the time and dont get bored easy, go for it, its a great feeling doing somthing like that for yourself. Not only that you have saved yourself some cash, ok you may have cursed once or twice, but how proud of yourself you can be .
Just watch for those pesky run marks though, remember lots of thin coats, not few thick ones.
I did mine 6 months ago, mine were not to bad, and I got away with not filling, just rubbing down, spay paint and laquering. look good, but took me about 3 days to finish. its all the carefull masking that takes time. cost me about £35 in supplies and ended up doing them in BMW artic sliver paint, nice and bright!.
