Weird rear light issues - 156 Sportwagon
I don't like being baffled, but this one has done it.....can't find anything in the search to match it.
Last night got the bulb failure light on and O/S/R tail light was out - tried a spare bulb, and tried swapping light clusters side to side, but no joy. Whilst testing everything realised brake light not working either.....so thought must be an earth issue. It was gone midnight so drove home illuminating the offside by using the fog warning lights....hating myself for it, as its one of my pet hates......On the way home realise that the O/S indicator is working fine, so presumably it isn't an earth issue.
Checking today, and I discover that the only brake light working is the high-level one, so I check the nearside brake light bulb and that's fine.....
So - it isn't a fuse issue - fuses 6 and 7 serve front and rear sidelights (linked diagonally across the car), and the brake lights and rear fogs also utilise these fuses, and both front lights are fine, as are both rear fogs and the N/S rear light and number plate lights.
I can only conclude that I have a broken wire somewhere in the loom to the rear......before I start ripping out the interior of the car, does anyone else have any thoughts?
