Anyone else has had this problem?
Over the last couple of days, I noticed that the clutch pedal was a getting an occasional judder, no obvious pattern. Thought to myself, must check that out at the weekend.
Only, last night I was trundling along the M4 heading for Basingstoke and pulled off at Fleet service area. When I got going again, the clutch pedal stuck down.
I managed to coast it into a rescue company's yard on the services in neutral and called the AA (thank god for the free membership under the warranty).
Got rescued to the local dealer just outside Basingstoke. They've spent all day looking at it and the clutch slave cylinder has leaked all it's hydraulic fluid out over the clutch.
I've been told it needs a new clutch kit, which is a g-box out and 5-6hours work.
Thank god I'm still covered by the warranty
Worse still, there's no clutch kits in the country and they don't know when they'll be able to get the parts in.
I've spent this afternoon sorting out getting the car to my local dealer near Birmingham and me getting a hire car to get me home from Basingstoke to Staffordshire. What a pain in the...
Just wondered if this was a common problem or if I just got unlucky?
I've had the car 13 months, done 33,000miles in it (yes, I do a lot of miles) and had no probs at all, still thoroughly love the car...way better than some Astra or Blurr (sorry, Focus). I've got Pug 206 as a hire car and, you know, it's just not the same
It'd be good to know if this is common...and if it is, why don't they have any of the clutch kits in the Country???!!!!!!
