As for enginelife??????? 160bhp or 175 bhp or 200 bhp will not make
much of a difference to the engine block, really.
you also must remember we are talking diesels, not petrol turbos, and
as a diesel runs with an excess of air in the first place, then you
have to realise that tunning to 165/175 bhp if done properly does
not involve a major boost of the turbo.
also if you decide to upgrade the intercooler, then again you already
have a possible 160bhp plus car, without doing anything else to it.
so how anyone can claim it has an effect on engine,is behind the
Any real problems involves the turbo, which is not the engine and
badly done remaps with spikes.
and yes the clutch can be an issue due to the huge amounts of
torque, but as has been said already, a good tunner would be able
to dial round this, to a degree...
I agree, i have a 80,000 mile 2.4jtd 10v,remapped with cda induction kit, by Nige @ Angeltuning, and according to them, it is running approx 185/190bhp and about 310/315 lbs torque, and has been totally reliable for 6 months or so now (goes like stink too!!)
I have recently spoken to nige about getting more power out of the car, but as all too commonly mentioned, it will trash the gearbox, so pointless!
