156 jtd 16v turbo lag

Hi all
I have the 150 16 v multijet JTD and have noticed when pulling from junctions, changing gear that there is a small flat spot before the turbo kicks in. When turbo engages she goes fine. Has anybody else had a similar experience or is it just normal for this engine?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 156 jtd 16v turbo lag

Hi Texelburger,

Yeah I have noticed that on my 2002 2.4 JTD SW. However if you change at higher revs it isn't there - or rather it isn't noticable.
I have found that if you don't have the revs high enough when you pull away from a junction or onto roundabout then you will also see this lag then.

Just keep the revs a little higher from and rev a little longer in the gear and you shouldn't notice as much, works for me

turn off the aircon - makes pulling away a lot easier.
