for a while now I have had a noise from the left rear, over certain drop bumps, not a knock but a kinda chirp, but like something is loose.
More crucially I have also noticed when cornering that that corner seems alot softer, and much looser, with overster more easily enduced, like the tyre is all slippery there. It feels exactly like that tyre is deflated - except it is not!
is tight under there, no play in any bushes I can detect, the bounce test seems fine for the shock (it just past MOT a few weeks ago), but with the handling noticable lacking grip in that corner, something is up. Ref the noise its the rear squab is in place, and the exhaust mounts fine.
Could it be the top mount, or the shock having gone just on compression side - do they do that, and would that mean it still passed the MOT bounce test for rebound?
Any help appreciated
p.s. also can the shock be replaced on one side, or do you have to do both, if it turns out its that, and any recommendations for standard fit but better shocks?
