I ignored my airbag light for two months and it went off. Than it was on for two more days and now is off again. I have no idea if my airbags are ready or disarmed now. It seems the airbag ecu plays with me. :-)
Same here bud,
But here is the clincher, everytime my wife drives the car, because she is, mmmmmm, lets say vertically challenged, she has to have the seat right forward, and that switches the airbags off. I have spoken to Alfa about this and they say it is a design flaw that they know about. Apparently if the seat is right forward the computer can tell that if it triggers the side airbags, rather than go against the centre pillar and spread it would blow the door off (nice) so it switches them off!!!!! the only way to re-arm them is to take them to Alfa for re-mapping @ £45 a shot, when challenged as to them fixing it for free as it is a flaw they said NO (usual Alfa response) so now my Wife can't drive the car (has some advantages)
Stress is to care.......... And I don't give a s**t
Thats a crap story if I ever heard one !! it is the connection under the seat that is the culprit, if you as much as look at it , it will disengage the airbags. The best way to get it right is solder the connection and reset with Examiner.
I have to agree guys, Solder will do the job methinks (but for the purposes of keeping the wife away from the car) i prefer Alfa's excuse lol.
Not surprising it was an Alfa Romeo Dealership (one of only two near me) who advised it was due to the seat position (******** or what).
thats why AO is every Alfa owners dream.
Both owned by the same company too!! Cept one is better.
There is a thread on here somewhere that explains the apparent tendancy to bovine effluent excuses, apparently only senior techs are allowed to reset airbags and they may be either V busy or not there. Explains why some dealers may offer a fobboff.
